FTCE Florida Physics 6-12 Examination Information

Physics is one of the greatest branches of science which entirely deals with the concepts behind natural phenomena. Professional certifications are valid for five academic years and are renewable while temporary certifications are valid for only three academic years and cannot be renewed. Educators with temporary certifications may continue but only with a professional certification.

Eligibility Requirements for FTCE Physics Exam

To appear for the FTCE Physics Exam, candidate needs to fulfil the eligibility criteria listed by the board. Professional certification applicants are required to have a bachelor degree and master degree in Physics. For temporary certifications, candidates are required to have a 2.5 GPA in Physics in addition to their bachelor’s degree.

Applicants must submit fingerprint reports; otherwise they will not be eligible for neither the certifications nor the exam.

Examination Format of FTCE Physics Test

The exam covers basic knowledge on physics, such as:

• Mathematics of physics

• Thermodynamics

• Mechanics

• Waves

• Optics

• Electricity

• Magnetism

The FTCE Physics Exam consists of multiple choice questions. There are 90 multiple choice questions in FTCE Physics Exam. The total duration for attempting the exam is 150 minutes. Use of calculator is prohibited in the examination centre. Constant value, conversions and other needed data will be provided to the candidate at the examination centre. Questions to be asked in the exam are in these formats:

• Situation analysis

• Commanding query

• Graphical query

• Direct questioning

• Completing the sentence
