Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 September 2026. This policy describes the StudyGuide.net website (the “Site”) at https://studyguide.net/. If you do not agree with anything described here, please do not use the Site.

1. Who operates the Site

StudyGuide.net is an editorial reference for professional certification and entrance exams. It lists exams and the study materials published for them, so visitors can see what exists before they buy anything. The Site is operated by the StudyGuide.net editorial team. To contact the team about privacy questions, please use the contact channel offered within the exam catalog. We do not publish a postal address on the Site.

2. Information the Site does not collect from you

  • Analytics on the public Site. Google Analytics 4 is enabled on the public Site and collects aggregate page views and basic interaction events, as described in section 4. Google Search Console reporting and Google Ads are operator-side integrations that do not run in a visitor’s browser. The Site loads no third-party advertising tags.
  • No account required to read. Visitors do not need to register or sign in to read the public catalog.
  • No purchase is completed on the Site. When the Site links you to a publisher or vendor website, that external site’s privacy policy applies.
  • The Site does not ask for your email, phone number, payment card, or government identifier. If a contact form ever becomes available, this section will be updated and a fresh effective date will be posted at the top of this page.

3. Information that may be recorded automatically

Server access logs

Like every web server, the hosting infrastructure serving the Site records certain information in standard access logs. That information may include the page or resource requested, the referring URL, the date and time of the request, the visitor’s IP address, the browser user-agent string and accepted response formats, and the HTTP status code returned. These logs are retained by the hosting operator for operational, security, and abuse-prevention purposes. They are not used by StudyGuide.net to profile individual visitors, and we cannot turn them off without disabling the Site.

Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress itself sets a small number of cookies, for these purposes:

  • WordPress login cookies. Set only when an editor or administrator signs in to manage the Site. Not set for ordinary visitors.
  • Comment author cookies. Set only if a visitor submits a comment to the Site and asks the Site to remember their name, email, or website for next time. The Site closes comments on exam pages. This policy may apply to a future page where comments are open.
  • Google Analytics cookies. Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (for example _ga and _ga_<container>) to distinguish visitors and sessions for the aggregate measurement described in section 4.

The Site does not currently set any advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or cross-site behavioural cookies. If that changes, this section will be updated and a fresh effective date posted at the top of this page.

Embedded media

Images and other static media on the Site are served from the Site’s own server. The Site’s rendered HTML does not load third-party pixels, advertising tags, or third-party iframes for analytics or behavioural tracking.

4. Google services used by the operator

StudyGuide.net uses, or plans to use, specific Google services at the operator level to monitor and improve the Site. These integrations run on the operator’s server with Google service-account credentials, except for Google Analytics 4, which also collects in the visitor’s browser as described below. They do not access, identify, or track individual visitors beyond what is described in “Server access logs” and “Cookies and similar technologies” above. None of these integrations read, store, or transmit a visitor’s name, email address, phone number, government identifier, or Google account credentials.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 is enabled on the Site. GA4 measures aggregate page views and basic interaction events (such as viewing a single exam page or clicking an outbound resource link). GA4 may use cookies or browser local storage set by Google to associate those events with a session. To opt out, a visitor may install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or use their browser’s privacy controls.

Google Search Console

Google Search Console is an operator tool. StudyGuide.net uses it to read its own aggregate search-query performance in Google Search. The Site does not transmit visitor data to Search Console; it reads the Site’s own account-level reports.

Google Ads API

If Google Ads is enabled for the Site, StudyGuide.net uses the Google Ads API server-side to query aggregate, public keyword research (for example, average monthly searches for specific terms that the Site may choose to write about). The integration is configured with read-only access and does not target, identify, or profile individual visitors. Google Ads API access on StudyGuide.net is Basic tier. The integration remains an operator-side, server-to-API read of aggregate public keyword research; it has not yet been deployed to query data for the public Site. The Site will update this section and the effective date when that changes.

5. External websites

The Site links to external websites such as publisher and vendor pages for the study materials it lists. Once a visitor clicks through to an external website, that external website’s privacy policy, cookie practices, and tracking apply. StudyGuide.net is not responsible for the data practices of external sites.

6. Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links on the Site may be affiliate links: when a visitor clicks through and purchases something, StudyGuide.net may earn a commission, at no extra cost to the visitor. The current footer of the Site carries the same disclosure. If an affiliate relationship is activated for a specific product link, that relationship is determined by the operator’s review of the underlying publisher and resources. Editorial content on the Site is independent of any affiliate relationship.

7. Data security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Editor and administrator credentials are stored in WordPress’s standard user table with hashed passwords. Access to the operator’s server is restricted by SSH key authentication. No online security measure is perfect; if a security issue affects the Site, StudyGuide.net will work to address it within reasonable commercial timeframes.

8. Children

The Site is a reference for professional certification and entrance exams. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and StudyGuide.net does not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Your privacy choices

You can take these steps at any time:

  • Browser controls. Disable cookies or set your browser to clear cookies and site data after each session. This may affect how some pages display.
  • Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. The Site honours standard browser-level signals to the extent required by applicable law.
  • Opt out of analytics. To opt out of GA4, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or use your browser’s controls.

If you would like to make a privacy request (access, correction, or deletion of any personal data you may have submitted to the Site), contact the editorial team using the channel within the exam catalog.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will be summarised in a change log appended at the bottom of this page for at least 30 days after the change takes effect.

Change log

24 September 2026. Google Analytics 4 was enabled on the public Site. Sections 2, 3, 4 and 9 were updated to disclose the aggregate measurement GA4 performs, the first-party cookies it sets, that its collection runs in the visitor’s browser, and how to opt out. The Google Ads API access-level statement in section 4 was corrected to reflect current access. No other practices changed.
