FTCE Florida Chemistry 6-12 Exam Study Guide

Chemistry is a broad branch of science that deals with the chemical nature of the natural phenomena. Educators training to become a chemistry teacher must deal with branches such as organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. Eligibility for FTCE Florida Chemistry 6-12 Examination

To take the FTCE Chemistry Exam, candidate needs to fulfil eligibility criteria listed by the board for both certifications.

• For professional certification, candidates need to hold a bachelor degree and a master’s degree in the subject. Candidates are also required to submit fingerprint reports to the board to verify any criminal past is recorded.
• For temporary certification, candidates also need to hold a bachelor degree with a 2.5 GPA in the subject. Also, candidates have to submit fingerprint reports.

Format of FTCE Chemistry 6-12 Exam

Taking the exam may require knowledge in all branches of chemistry as the syllabus covered by the FTCE Chemistry exam is quite vast. Topics covered by the exam are:

• Matter
• Energy and matter
• Chemical bonding and structure
• Stoichiometry and balanced chemical reactions
• Atomic structure and atomicity

Candidates should review well these topics to be able to obtain the certification. This exam is composed of 120 multiple choice questions which have different formats and designs. The total time given to the candidate is 150 minutes. This Exam includes questions of direct query, graphical query, sentence completion query, situation analysis, command based query.
