Aspiring educators who wish to teach this subject in Florida must first pass the FTCE Physical education Exam prepared by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE). There, their capabilities and qualities are tested in order to be qualified for a certification, which in turn allows them to officially teach in the state. Applicants may opt for either a professional or a temporary certification. A professional certification is a long-term certification which lasts for five academic years and is renewable while a temporary certification only lasts for three academic years and is non-renewable. Both certifications have different eligibilities and requirements which candidates have to comply in order to be eligible for a certification.
