FTCE Florida Biology 6-12 Exam Study Guide
Teaching Biology is a very challenging task since it deals with the physiology of living organisms. To be able to take the FTCE Biology Exam, candidates need to be eligible for the criteria listed by the board. As stated above, both the certification requires different sets of conditions to be fulfilled. Professional certification candidates require specialization in the subject with a bachelor degree. If obtained, the certification expires after five academic years and would need a renewal. On the other hand, candidates applying for a temporary certificate require a GPA of 2.5 in addition to their bachelor degree. However, this certification is available only for one-time and cannot be renewed. Candidates also need to submit detailed fingerprint reports to the FLDOE before taking the exam.
FTCE Biology Test Format
The FTCE Biology Exam includes topics in science, technology and society, chemical reactions in living beings, cell physiology and structure, genetics and heredity, prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms and functioning, structural and functionality in animals and human beings, ecology and evolution, etc.
To be able to pass the exam, candidates must acquire basic knowledge in all the various fields in Biology. The FTCE Biology Exam consists of 120 multiple choice questions. These questions are of following format:
• Command system- Candidate has to select the best answer possible.
• Situation analysis- Candidate will be given a scenario and answer the questions as accurately as possible.
• Completing the sentence- Candidate has to complete the incomplete sentence.
These questions are majorly involved in the FTCE Biology Exam. The total duration for completing the exam is 150 minutes. Candidate has to complete the entire test within the given. No extra time or instrumental help is provided at the exam centre.
