Ready to go beyond CISSP? Or perhaps tired of being CISSP certified already?

It's true, becoming CISSP cert is a long journey, but what if there was another way to improve your security... and i mean your financial security (not necessarially cyber security)... and get you started to begin thinking about yourself... rather... than simply thinking about the company whom you are working for.

What if I got you to start thinking about yourself outside of your full time job and what If I Rome Wells showed you a secret way for how improve your chances of gaining financial freedom by relying on the skill set that many other folks rely upon, but most certainly not as educated as you are..(the cissp certified folks)

So how do you jump outside of the box.. and outside of CISSP world?

What I am about to tell you next will possibly change you as a person...... and help you start thinking about your self.. about your retirment and about your financial freedom.

What I am about to tell you is something that you can grasp... quickly... after all why wouldn't you be able to grasp it quickly... Think about it... your mind on regular basis is submerged in raising up defenses and reducing cyber security risk factors... 

The cyber security defenses that you are raising up on daily basis are all different from different caliber.. depending on the vulnerabilities that you encounter during your daily work journey.

From high level overview what you encounter in your corporate job role is simply spectrum of all around obsticales that are thrown at you on regular basis.. obsticales that you must jump across and figure out viable defenses... without knowing the full picture...

You are being asked to secure company.. yet that requires knowledge of every business process (and doesn't pay as much as they should, what they should pay is minimum 200k base minimum! not less for folks of your caliber...not even 150k any more 200k...if you don't get that then your brain deserves to be somewhere else, do me a favor next time recruiter calls you.. respond back

and tell him/her your minimum base salary which you will even bother to consider is 200k... that's right you heard me 200k.. no less! let's all do that guys... please... else... you will continue working for the same salary as everyone else... of median range... like a waiter... in Manhattan in upscale restaurant... do you consider yourself smarter then a waiter... ? 

I sure hope you do.. and I sure hope that you didn't just complete CISSP to be getting paid the same... as every other median profession... no way... tell recruiters you want 200k base minimumor...)...

Your CISSP relevant job is in good hand (but isn't there more in life?)

 

Now... of course your job is in good hands from the standpoint of reducing risk, and sure lots of defense mechanisms that you role out on daily basis and the more security hoops you add the more secure company will be... but... all of that is hassle...  constantly requires you guessing... whether or not some security threat is legitimate or not... or perhaps is really false positive... 

You are spending lots of energy of interacting with IT operaions team and business units, CIOs and CTOs and spending your time and your energy...  the type of energy that can not be easily measurable... (at which point CIOs, and CTOs begin to question.. things.. such as .. what a hell are you doing?.. then give you a boot...that's the reality......

 

why should you have to think about this on daily basis... that shouldn't be the case... what should happen instead is responsibilities should merge... that is what CIO and CTO wants... they want the jack of all trades... rather then specialied folks... they don't want specialized folks... they want you to do everything... yet the reality is... they are not paying en

ough money for you to do everything... no matter how much they want you to do everything... Therefore... if you do have to do everything.. then you may as well be your own boss... or have the compan pay you more... agree or disagree?  Well you will probably agree... that's the reality.. .)

Back to your work

Sure perhaps you roll out Nessus vulnerability scan tools and external vulnerability Outpost 24 tools or perhaps you use Nessus for both external and internal vulnerability in combination of Tableu and CyberEye, SCCM to patch, NextThink and looking at firewall logs all day, etc.. to track your enterprise...

and constantly documenting and reviewing standards... ensuring security assurance processes are followed... and educating users..... and setting up fishing campaigns with hopes of finding uneducated users and educating them by providing them proper security awareness training... I get it... guys... I get it... (but have you asked yourself.. isn't there a better way... to get to your financial freedom goal.. then being the left hand of CIO.. then having to be under appreciated for your monumental efforts of being the true expert..... yet not really getting rewarded for your efforts as you really should be?)

I know what's it's like working every day... and heck I work every day myself at this moment still as the IT Network Security Engineer... but here is what I learned in the process of working... and here is where I am gearing towards.. and here is where you can be gearing your financial freedom goal towards to...

 

Where exactly is Rome Wells pivoting himself towards? (perhaps to something more in life... ?)

Rome Wells is pivoting his mindset to where the money is at...

    Let me tell you this story... about how in January 1st 2018... I woke up and simply decided to do something that I have never done before... something that excited me... something that wanted me to get closer to financial freedom goal... and know I am not talking about BitCoin investment or stocks investment... What I am talking about is commercial real estate investment.

Commercial Real estate investment?  What?  Rome Wells how on earth can you network together CISSP and commercial real estate investment?  How on earth can you pivot alreay CISSP certified folks towards commercial real estate business strategy to gain freedom to financial freedom goal... especially if you are not commercial real estate super guru yourself....

My answer is simple... Through "The Secret Art of Pivoting" (book that I cooked up specficially for thousands of other folks including you, in case if you want to check out more visit plus.google.com/+TutoringServices)  

The Secret Art of Pivoting is just a book on the side that I wrote.. and yes i wrote this book simply because... I wanted folks to learn how to network with each other... and how to be able to influence other people... including folks who are CISSP certified... or teachers... or nurses.. or lawyers... or project managers... or doctors... or heck... commercial real estate brokers, real estate agents, inspectors, contractors you name it... 

However... this is not about me promoting my book... it's about.. what I have discovered throughout the journey of diving into different people mindset... and what I have learned and what it all means.. and how it's all relevant... to you... and how what I have learned and what I discovered throughout my life journey can help you...

Ok so what did Rome Wells discover... (FYI notice how i speak from the 3rd person and from the 1st person... reason is simple... i am in multiple mindsets when i write...)

Now you may say... Rome Wells, you are what a network consultant and you also have a full time job... and you are also ... (yes i am also certified teacher for the state of CT, founder of Tutoring Services, LLC, CCNP certifed, author of SDN book and many other things in between)

How on earth Rome Wells is it possible... how can you do all of these things?  The answer is... I have passion... passion for learning.. and just like you I can help you develop that passion and show you how to learn new things... 

If you are a CISSP certified... person think about it.. why did you get cert?  (and no answer of... Rome Wells told me... doesn't count... even though there is a reason as towhy i have provided advice for folks to get the cert)

What caused you to get Cert?  Did you know that I single handely increase demand on CISSP certification exam... just by me using my influential networking power?   Meaning I single handedly in free time just went ahead and influenced lots of folks to take CISSP exam....

Now you may say... well Rome Wells what makes you say that and what is the point you are trying to make? 

The point that I am trying to make is... simple... if I can influece masses to do something... I can most certainly influence my own brain in the direction of reaching financial freedom goal or helping my ownself reach the financial goal... that is precisely what I would like to teach you..

I want to show you how to expand your brain... Initially I started out my journey connecting routers and switches and connecting systems together... in my initial career... and up to this day i still do that... the passion is still there... (except I also realize that there is not much demand for such type of work as it used to be)... then as the time went on I did something else... such as founded my own educational company... with over 10000 teachers registered on my site... Then later on in life I realized I am spending lots of time helping people... helping them get educated.. helping them prepare for their career, yet I also realized I wasn't really appreciated enough in the community for any of my efforts... 

In simple words I helped thousands of folks.. yet i simply didn't see much return on my investment and time I spent in helping people... I didn't see that level of appreciation... and most certainly it felt like a closed never ending loop.... of helping people but not receiving anything back in return....

So what I realized in my journey is that it was time for me to change and do sommething that helped me appreciate my investment... So I started thinking what can help me be appreciated in value... and the first thing that came up to me in my mind was... something physical... i realized that services, and education and anything that is virtual doesn't bring much value... to people... simply because they can't measure that volume....  as much as for example they can measure something physical... such as nice beautiful red brick...

So what I started doing is asking question... how on earth... am I so smart.. and knowledgible yet I don't have much money... why on earth am I not reaching my financial freedom goal... and why on earth are my efforts not being appreciated.. and what a hell am I doing wrong... 

I figured that mayb cause i am cyber security professional... and certified math teacher and business owner, that just maybe I am smart... but in reality... what I realized.. is that I am not smart at all... because if I was smart... I would have been rich by now... yet I am not... 

So what on earth can I possibly do to change that... and how is that possible that other people out there... become rich... how are they better then me.. what did they possibly do to be better then me... and what I realized is a strange pattern... in my thinking...

I realized that a lot of rich folks became rich due to being in real estate... Anything they worked on getting... such as working on a deal of buying a house and selling it for more money after doing minor renovations, was directly contributing to the appreciation of their house value.. and hence themselves....

Meaning everything they did was directly translated into their wealth.. However it was not the case with me... anything I did was directly translated into people's minds but not actioned upon... and I most certainly didn't benefit much from helping people stay educated...

Obviously with such realization, what I decided to is i decided to change... I decided to combine my knowledge of education with something for which I would be better appreciated... sort of like the house value....   So the first thing that came to my mind is commercial real estate... 

The reason why it came into my mind was simply because... my friend Nick... happen to one day ask me for a loan... and given that he is my friend... i took a risk.. and gave him the loan and he gave me the promisory note that he will repay me back the loan... and what he did was just buy some houses in Arizona and renovated them then sold them for more...

Now you may say... well Rome Wells welcome to the real world.. but hat is nothing new to me... i know about renovating houses.. i heard about it on TV shows i know what it's like you are not showing me anything new..  and yes... i am not showing anything new to you yet... and simply priming your brain... before I show you something new... so this way you can express more interest...

So going back to my story... My friend Nick basically made me a passive investor... for a property.. and it wasn't even commercial property that he was diving into or remodeling... but the profits he made from it... made it possible for me to get my money back....  After receiving couple of paychecks from my friend Nick... I didn't really think of it much... (speaking of Nick... check my software defined networking book.. here... I mentioned him in this book as well... StudyGuide.net/SDN)

Anyway... i didn't think of it all much.. he was giving me about 5 to 8 percent return on my private loan to him.. depending how much profit property made...   

Then after a while my friend left everything and left to Vietnam to open up another business (software as a platform company, pretty much Amazon Selling business... which by the way I describe secrets for how to sell on Amazon and make money here...

At which point my journey of investing with Nick has endeded.. and I simply continued doing what I was doing best, helping folks stay educated by providing reviews on all sorts of study guides and continued working in my full time job (as where I am currently now... still as I am writing this...)

At which point, i wanted to earn more... i wanted to know how Nick was doing all of this... how he was able to find deals... and how he was able to make money by flippipng homes... but at the same time ... i was a bit scared... because i knew. that i can't even hold a screw driver... I am an IT guy... how on earth can i fix anything.... 

At which point around that time when I was thinking about all of my weak links and realizing that my expertise of connecting routers and switches... and being security folk is gradually being extinct... since majority of the infrastructure was heading out to cloud.... I knew.. that the entire fabric of security systems and CISSP exam itself.. would also need to be modified within it's own body of knowledge to reflect cloud.... 

I also knew that cloud will eat people live... when it comes to jobs.... and put an end to traditional network engineers as we know them... and sure enough as I continued monitoring the trends in the Market... i realized that the CCIEs were no longer in demand as they use to be... I realized SDN was taking over... (at which point I started writing my SDN book...  which up to this point I realized that not that many people even bother reading....)

Maybe people didn't want to reading because either I was light years ahead of the market talking about SDN or perhaps, people simply do not like to read... no matter what the case is... or was... I learned one wonderful lesson from it all... 

That lesson is... no matter what you do... does not get appreciated in value... regardless of how good you are or how much you think you are good.... what is trully appreciated in value is the growth of physical assets... and last time I checked... the only thing that stuck in my mind... across all of the patterns that I was exposed to... was... welll... real estate....

I wasn't entirely sure.. what type of real estate... I wanted to dive into... but I knew... that I wanted to learn more about it...

I knew that I wanted to be appreciated.. just like the property value... in my efforts.. I knew that everything I did had to be in the direction of financial freedom goal...

So what did I do next?  Well.. I simply started applying principles of both networking world... math world.. pivoting world...and cyber security world together... to dive super deep into real estate business investment model to see how rich folks doing it... and what their mind set... is... and are they truly smart as we all think... or perhaps...

Rome Wells himself 21st century educational advocate can crack the system and discover the loopholes that can help other folks dive into this field... and make their financial freedom goal come true... 

Now you may say... Well Why should I listen to Rome Wells.. shouldn't i just listen to someone successfull in commercial real estate?  The answer is yes... absolutely.. but what you must also learn is how to listen the folks that are relevant to you and of similar caliber to see what they have discovered so you don't make stupid mistakes.... when diving into this area....

It sometimes helps being on the same wave length vs someone else who is for example some super rich guru real estate guru, whos mindset is no longer thinking about survival and financial freedom goal as much as the mindset of the typical folk....

So now you may say.. Well Rome Wells, i hear you but tell me more what exactly did you discover.. what did you learn.. what are you trying to do... how can you get closer to financial freedom goal and what can you recommend to someone like me... (CISSP folk... sitting somewhere and working at full time job... looking at vulnerabilities all day)

Ok... So here is what I will share with you... remember how I said.. that I applied... my math skills, my pivoting skills and cyber security skills together to dive into commercial real estate?

Here is how i am doing doing this...

I look at information about commercial real estate business as a big equation.... the type of equation that consists of risk factors... sort of like when you look at the network and see the risk factors.... and decide upon what's good to implement vs what's bad... to implement...

Except I subsdivide the entire commercial real estate business model into different components different key players that are invloved... and revolved around commercial real estate..  and I analyze them... I analyze reasoning for why they do what they do... and I analyze every single type of commercial real estate business model... in such a way... that can help me better understand where the most hassle free opportunities in commercial real estate business reside... and how can i tap into them..

I represent everything in my mind when I begin to learn more about commercial real estate by sub-dividing entire reasoning behind someone else selling a property into different factors...

For example, different key players (such as real estate brokers, agents, contractors, insectors, property managers... and I look at all of them as the packets of data... sort of like when you look at wireshark output and see tons of rows of tcp packets...)  

I look at each of the benefits and ways for how I can pivot mindset of one individual towards me, and towards my financial freedom goal, while providing reason for that key-player to be working with me....  

I look at many different factors, besides key players... when it comes to disecting the reasoing behind why math behind the numbers is the way it is....

Now you may say... Rome Wells... well... so what are you trying to say can you get to the point?

What I am trying to say is that I can help you learn how to dive into commercial real estate using your already existing mindset of being CISSP certified folks... and represent factors and variables in your mind in such a way that can help you analyze risk... when it comes to investing into commercial real estate property....

The very same risk... that you already used to analyzing... just in the different industry... the very same risk tactic that you already use in CISSP industry you can apply in commercial real estate.. just under different angle.... 

Now you may say... Rome Wells.. what exactly are you saying?  I am saying that you can go beyond CISSP and get yourself positioned towards financial freedom goal by becoming someone else... while still retaining your job... and then gradually jumping out of your comfort zone and transitioning your self into a full time commercial real estate business owner/landlord/investor.

What I am trying to say is... what I learned... is one thing... other folks... make a lot of money... such as traders... and brokers... the type of folks who can sell.. the type of folks who have pivotal mindset... you can become one too....

Now I just started in January 1st 2018... and you can too begin converting your mindset... even if you are still working at your full time job... after work.. and during the weekends... or while you are in the train in your commute... you to can change your mindset...

I always though traders must be really smart people that they make so much money... but the reality is.... they just followed the right path... and what makes them good shares a lot of attributes with what makes you CISSP certified from the standpoint of analyzing risk... except you are analyzing... something virtual... which brings questionable value... vs what traders analyze is an actual commodity and something physical.. that brings value and appreciation...

You are dealing with packets, with providing security awareness training, who some may retain, and some may not.. and dealing with virtual possibilities of what ifs... what if hacker breaks into... your company's front end server...

what if the east to west traffic creates problems when virus breaks out... while the other guys such as commercial real estate brokers.. are selling houses... big houses.. big buildings.. where result of the deal is clearly seen... in terms of mathematical numbers... in terms of yes or no.. in terms of... yes it's real because this is how much money it produces...

this is why it's called... Real Estate.... (at least that's my own definition from what I learned.. in reality I do not know why it's called real estate... but based on my analysis, i see when something is real... then it must have numbers to back it up, anything else hypothetical such as what if a virus breaks down... my operations... in the company... is not real and only becomes real when it happens...

 

not before.. therefore the value of the CISSP folks vs brokers, or traders is a lot less... even though believe it or not salary wise... many folks are getting the same close to 125 to 150k... across all the professions...  and that is the peak number that many will not jump across unless.. you change your mindset... and that is what I will attempt to do myself and show you how to do it as i go through the journey myself.)
